Governor David Paterson, D-NY First Governor of Caribbean Heritage Will Not Run For Office

After the White House leaked a story late last year that President Obama felt Governor David Paterson, D-NY, was not electable, Paterson quest to get elected on his own accord had ended before his campaign even started. He had been politically wounded. Governor Paterson announcement that he has withdrawn is anticlimactic and in the eyes of Democratic machine, the scandal involving one of his aides is not a convincing excuse for his withdrawal.

Washington, D.C. – As New Yorkers get ready to file their tax returns for 2009, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is urging New York taxpayers to take advantage of every deduction available to them.
Approximately 6.3 million New York families are eligible for the Making Work Pay Tax Credit, which was included in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act that Senator Gillibrand helped pass last year – cutting taxes for approximately 93 percent of New Yorkers.
